In January of 2023 I was contacted by Sandra who was looking for a relaxed wedding photographer for their big day in April. We organised a meet up for a quick coffee to chat over their day and make sure I was the right fit for her and Alex, here I found out they'd been engaged before covid and had decided at Christmas 2022 if they didn't get on with booking things quickly they'd never do it, so they started to plan there wedding from January only giving themselves months! In my opinion, you'd never had known! The day flowed so perfectly.
Sandra & Alex decided they weren't interested in getting ready shots and had a later ceremony so decided to book me for my Daisy package which covers 6 hours. Therefore I arrived at the Guildhall in Poole and captured Alex greeting their guests and Sandra's arrival. It was a beautiful service filled with lots of laughter with all their nearest ands dearest. Afterwards we made use of the steps outside of the Guildhall for group photos before setting off for the reception.
This was my first time shooting at The English Oak Vineyard in Lytchett Matravers and it was so exciting for me, I grew up in the village and had walked through many times whilst growing up for walks as they have a public footpath. It was great to finally shoot here and what avenue it is! The old barn had been renovated out for weddings with a very modern and stylish approach whist still keeping those old classic touches of the barn with the beautiful brick work. Even though Sandra & Alex's wedding was in April and at this time of year there's no greenery on the vines, it still has a beautiful look to it, especially with the soft evening light.
Melanie from Bellissimo Weddings was there organising and styling the room which was absolutely beautiful and I'd highly recommend them if you're hiring the vineyard. Also on the day for entertainment for the guests was Magic by Alfie who I'd also recommend, Alfie managed to keep the guests entertained and helped me capture some amazing reaction candid shots.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather as leading up to the day it had been pretty wet and miserable, but fortunately this then led to some great lighting for couple shots in the evening.
The night ended off with a live band which really got the mood going and fir perfectly with the rest of the beautiful day. This year I will be back at this stunning venue and I'm so excited to experience it all again.
