Wow! What a crazy, fun and busy year was 2022, for me it was the busiest year yet for weddings and I'm so grateful to all my incredible couples for choosing me to capture their day. As it was my busiest year I also had the honour to visit lots of beautiful new venues this year, some of which I've been hoping to go to for a few years. But as you can read from the title of this blog there were particularly 3 that stood out for me.
Sopley Mill is stunning! From the rustic brick exterior to the stunning river just a footstep away, it's totally picturesque. My wonderful couple got married in November but they were so fortunate with the gorgeous weather, even with the winter chill, I'm definitely excited to go back here in July 2023. For a photographer it's always super handy to have a good relationship with the manager of the day at any venue, me and my lovely second Emma Winters were looked after with food and drinks. I'd highly recommend Sopley Mill as a wedding venue!
Before this stunning spring wedding I decided to go and visit Kingston Maurward as I'd never been before and I was definitely excited for this wedding after I did (well more than I already was after meeting this incredible couple!) I was amazed by the beautiful grounds and gardens, there was so much opportunity for some wonderful shots. Thankfully this gorgeous pair were more than willing to go to all the different spots and do whatever I asked so we were able to get some amazing photos for them. If you want some gorgeous spots for your photos I'd definitely suggest checking out Kingston Maurward for your venue, not only that but the staff and standards are just wonderful.
Without a doubt Parley Manor was my favourite venue of the year! I'm so sad to not actually have anymore bookings (currently as I write this) for the coming future at Parley. Not only is it a stunning venue, inside the manor itself is gorgeous for photos, but then the grounds is just as beautiful. Luckily this was a early summer wedding so we were blessed to have so many beautiful flowers blooming and sharing their colours. But also, the staff were incredible! Never have I met staff at a venue who not only were incredible to the couple and their guests, but also to the suppliers! So often are we forgotten about by the venues but at Parley we were treated as one of the guests. We were kept fed and watered, continuously checked on for if we needed anything and to check our timings matched up, I honestly left in the evening so grateful as it makes my job ten times easier. If you're looking for a venue I urge you to please check out Parley Manor, or if you've already booked there then please think about me as your photographer, I'm desperate to go back!
So now we're heading in to 2023 and it's so exciting to see what this year will hold for Lucy Farrant Photography. I honestly cannot thank all my couples enough for this year and for next year my top 3 venues I'm most excited for are: Deans Court, Hale Park and Rownhams House.
