Fun & Colourful Wedding at The Flying Fish Barn - Beki & Josh

As soon as Beki first got in touch her personality shone through to me and I knew her and Josh's big day would be filled with fun and laughter, and I was absolutely right!

This was my first wedding in Somerset and I was really excited to experience a different venue in a new area, the drive to Beki's parents house was stunning, but wet! Leading up to the big day the weather had been pretty naff all week and the forecast for the big day was expecting on off showers so all we could do was hope for the best.

Getting ready prep was lovely and I got to meet the all the lovely suppliers which were Make-up by Romi, Lauren Marsh Hairdressing for the bridesmaids and Beki's bridesmaid Stacey did her hair Beyond Retreat. All of which are amazing and so lovely, I'd highly recommend all of them if you're in the local area.

Once the ladies were ready it was time to head on over to The Flying Fish Barn for the ceremony. Beki & Josh's colour choices for the day were a burnt orange and navy blue, which just looked amazing for Josh's suit. The barn was decorated with fairy lights and orange flowers, the warm tones just looked stunning. The couple had actually officially been married in the week, so they had their close friend perform this service which was so lovely and meaningful for them.

Fortunately the rain then held off for us to be able to get all of their group shots outside of the barn as well of some couple shots. I always like to give you 2 chances for couple photos, but this day was even more important as we were so uncertain if the weather would change again that we thought it was best to get some whilst we could incase it wasn't possible in the evening.

Once we'd done speeches we were aware we'd not done confetti earlier in the day, and the sun was still out for us! So all the guests lined up and Beki & Josh did their confetti shots with the chance to run back up through afterwards. We then decided that this was the best time to run them off for their photos. On the opposite side of the road to the barn, there's some fields with incredible views of the rolling hills in the background so we all decided this was the best spot for some gorgeous evening shots. However, as they are working farming fields and the week of rain I mentioned earlier, it was incredibly muddy. But, Beki was an absolute star and knew she wanted these photos with the view so she walked on through, even with flipflops on!

Without a doubt, out of all of my wedding couples these two were completely themselves and had the absolute best time whilst having their photos. Being completely silly and having a laughs and some lifts, we managed to capture some beautiful shots and this moment will always live in my mind for being a fun, silly, colourful and muddy wedding moment.

When we got back to the barn, Beki went off to try to wipe off an much mud as she could and I went to capture the candid shots as the games had begun! There were garden games like jenga and also beer pong inside, all fab for some action shots! Before I felt there was the cake cut and the first dance, where Josh surprised Beki by singing along which was amazing! As I knew from the beginning and I was right, it was a beautiful, fun and colourful wedding and I would love to do it all over again!
