After shooting my first wedding at Deans Court in April of 2023 I was so excited at I knew that I had another wedding there in both June & September. It's a ridiculously gorgeous venue, with an old manor house being the backdrop for your outdoor ceremony, stunning gardens for all your photos and a relaxed marquee for your wedding breakfast for you to style however you please.
My September wedding was for the gorgeous Beth & Tom who made use of the Gate House accommodation to get ready, they have been my first couple to ever get ready within such a close proximity but I actually think it's such a lovely touch how close you are. I had my lovely second shooter Emma Winters Photography with me for the morning and she was helping out Tom & his groomsmen to get ready, whilst I stayed on the side of the house with Beth and her girls. Beth looked absolutely incredible in her Minster Bridal Boutique dress and with her hair and make up being done by the lovely Bex Elizabeth Hair. Both were so relaxed which was the theme for the whole day, this totally is the key point in your day to set the tone, so please remember to keep calm and trust your suppliers to do what's needed.
As the venue is all so close it was a super quick walk for Beth & her bridesmaids to get ready to take their walk down the aisle. With an incredibly stunning outdoor ceremony, which was surprisingly hot for September, the couple were finally married!
After some beautiful confetti photos, it was time for the drinks reception by the marquee which left time for candid shots, canapes and some detail photos of the stunning marquee. The florist for the day was Brothers Farm and they did a fantastic job. What I really loved was the themed tables, each table name was a location of importance to the couple and they decorated each table to it's theme ie. "New Forest" had little trees.
Personally I love to use the shaded area near the marquee for group photos, this means guests aren't having to wander too far from drinks and canapes, and if we need to call them over it makes the whole process run smoother. Also, it's a lovely little spot and really fits the feel for this couple. Once groups are finished with I let Beth & Tom chat to their guests and have some time to chill out, I always find it best to do 2 lots of couple photos, one at golden hour and another just before going in for food.
Once speeches were over it was now golden hour so I whizzed the couple of to the gorgeous field they're allowed to use at Deans Court, the stunning September light allowed us to get some gorgeous shots. We then did a few more shots in front of the house, also including Beth & Tom's dog Ziggy.
By this point it was time for the cake cut, first dance and the party to begin! Beth also had a dress change after the first dance, in to an amazing shorter dress with white and golden sparkly tassels, this was amazing to shoot with all of the movement from Beth dancing around.
Without a doubt, any other weddings at Deans Court I'd love to photograph, it's such a gorgeous venue and so fun to get creative with. Thank you again Beth & Tom!
